IMR is a tax-exempt, not-for-profit EVENT devoted to improving the status and experience of distance running in THE MULTICULTURAL COMMUNITY Ireland through collective marketing and promotions, raising health awareness, information and communications within the Wellness Health and Fitness industry.
IMR was formed in 2015 in an effort to tackle the growing obesity AND OVERWEIGHT epidemic IN CHILDREN, TEENS AND YOUNG ADULTS in OUR community in Ireland and provide encouragement and resources to both new and veteran runners. The mission of IRELAND MULTICULTURAL RUN is to encourage ALL to make healthy living as a priority. According to the Centers for OBESITY Control, over 85% of CHILDREN worldwide are overweight AND OBESE. IMR! wants to create a movement to lower that percentage and subsequently, lower the number of CHILDREN with OBESITY AND OVERWEIGHT ISSUES ASSOciated with an unhealthy diet and sedentary lifestyle. The organization is open to ALL CHILDREN, TEENS AND YOUNG ADULTS ALL UDER THE AGE OF 22!
The organization is based on the idea that its goals can best be achieved through everyone together.
